Shannon

Shannon began her career in 2003 when she attended a hair show with Tateum and quickly fell
in love with the creativity and individuality a career in cosmetology offered. Shannon left college
life and enrolled in Schilling Douglas School of Cosmetology full time. Soon after cosmetology
school began, Shannon was hired on as a shampoo assistant at Trilogy Salon and Day Spa in
Newark, DE. She continued her education after graduation with Trilogy’s apprenticeship
program, working directly under the owner of the salon.

After working at Trilogy for five years and growing her client base, Shannon decided to join the
growing team at Gloss Salon in Newark, DE. At Gloss, Shannon had the opportunity to expand
her talent into the art of makeup. She began formal education with Bare Minerals, MAC as well
as attending professional vendor shows to learn all she can about makeup. After seeing how
happy her co-workers were at weddings, she joined the traveling team at Gloss as a wedding
makeup artist. She spent 10 years aiding in the growth of weddings with the company before
she decided it was time to open her own studio.

Shannon will celebrate five years in her own space, Meraki Studio by Shannon! During the
week, she focuses on custom colors, balayage, color corrections, and haircuts. Meraki is also
an exclusive Kevin Murphy salon. Shannon’s certifications and continuing education include the
following:

  • Cezanne Keratin

  • Brazilian Blowout

  • Hot Heads Extensions

  • MAC Cosmetics Bridal Makeup

  • Balayage

  • Bumble and Bumble Cutting and Formal Styling

  • Kevin Murphy

Shannon’s editorial portfolio includes Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart Weddings, and A Lovely
Workshop with Elizabeth Messina.

In 2021, Shannon and Tateum joined forces again to create Styled with Meraki, a traveling hair
and makeup team specializing in weddings and special events. Shannon and Tateum have
worked closely together the majority of their career in beauty, so it felt right to come back
together to build something they are both so passionate about.

Shannon’s favorite thing about being a bridal artist is being a part of one of the best days of
someone’s life. She is obsessed with all things wedding; the family and friends gathering, the
bonds people share, the back stories, the tears, and of course the beauty.

When Shannon isn’t working, she is spending time with her husband Chad, and daughters
Gianna and Norah. She loves traveling, breaking a sweat, live music, spending time with
friends, and great food!
